What Is Short-Term Personal Home Care?

Short-term Personal Home Care services can last anywhere from a few days to a couple of months while a senior is recovering from an illness, injury or surgery. In these instances, home care is a temporary service.

Just as Long- Term Personal Home Care, we will extend the same amount of services  for the duration in which you require our services:

Short Term Personal Home Care has the same range of services and supports you may need to meet your personal care needs just a long-term personal care, but for a shorter period of time. Some short-term care is not medical care, but rather assistance with the basic personal tasks of everyday life, sometimes called Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as:

  • Bathing

  • Dressing

  • Using the toilet

  • Transferring (to or from bed or chair)

  • Caring for incontinence

  • Eating

Other common short-term care services and supports are assistance with everyday tasks, sometimes called Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) including:

  • Light Housekeeping

  • Taking medication

  • Preparing and cleaning up after meals

  • Shopping for groceries or clothes

  • Using the telephone or other communication devices

  • Caring for pets (Additional Charge)

  • Responding to emergency alerts such as fire alarms
